ASM Hockey Group is seeking Event Security Interns for the upcoming season. Interns will assist with day-to-day arena security operations, help maintain a safe and secure environment for players, fans, and staff, and play a critical role in supporting game day logistics. This internship is ideal for individuals pursuing careers in event operations, criminal justice, risk management, or hospitality and venue management.
Interns will gain hands-on experience monitoring crowd flow, enforcing venue access policies, and responding to incidents in real-time while learning how to manage safety protocols during live sports events.
We are looking for energetic, outgoing individuals with a positive, can-do attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow within the sports and entertainment industry. In addition to the duties and objectives listed above, interns will have the opportunity to gain exposure to various departments and entities within ASM Hockey Group.
The ASM Hockey Group internship program is designed to provide an educational, skill-building, hands-on experience. A key component of the program is the opportunity for interns to earn college credit through their academic institution.
Status and Rate of Pay:
Your status will be part-time as an intern or volunteer, with no employee benefits. This is an unpaid position. You will receive academic credit through your current university or institution for this work-based learning experience in collaboration with ASM Hockey Group and your school. If you are not eligible to receive academic credit, or if your university does not grant credit for internships, this opportunity will automatically be classified as a volunteer position. If you have any questions about your eligibility for academic credit, please consult your university advisor, internship coordinator, or course professor.

🗓️ Internship Terms Available:
Fall Semester: September – December
Spring Semester: January – April
Full Hockey Season: September - April
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
Monitor restricted areas and control access points
Check credentials and provide security screening as needed
Support enforcement of venue policies and fan code of conduct
Assist in addressing security concerns or crowd control issues
Escort guests or staff when necessary
Communicate via radio and report all incidents to supervisors
Provide courteous and professional customer service to all attendees
Follow crisis response and emergency procedures under guidance
👮🏻 Qualifications:
Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to work calmly in high-stress or high-traffic environments
A positive, team-oriented attitude with a desire to learn
Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
CPR/AED and First Aid training is a plus but not required
Interest in sports, public safety, or law enforcement is a plus
