ASM Hockey Group is seeking creative and driven individuals to join the Digital Content, Sports Journalism & Photography Internship program. This multifaceted role offers a unique opportunity to develop content across written, visual, and social platforms—covering live hockey, capturing impactful photography, and crafting compelling stories that engage fans and elevate the brand.

Interns will collaborate directly with the Media and Marketing Departments to create original digital content, shoot live game photography, and contribute to the team’s online presence through game recaps, player features, and visual storytelling.

We are looking for energetic, outgoing individuals with a positive, can-do attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow within the sports and entertainment industry. In addition to the duties and objectives listed above, interns will have the opportunity to gain exposure to various departments and entities within ASM Hockey Group.

The ASM Hockey Group internship program is designed to provide an educational, skill-building, hands-on experience. A key component of the program is the opportunity for interns to earn college credit through their academic institution.

Status and Rate of Pay:

Your status will be part-time as an intern or volunteer, with no employee benefits. This is an unpaid position. You will receive academic credit through your current university or institution for this work-based learning experience in collaboration with ASM Hockey Group and your school. If you are not eligible to receive academic credit, or if your university does not grant credit for internships, this opportunity will automatically be classified as a volunteer position. If you have any questions about your eligibility for academic credit, please consult your university advisor, internship coordinator, or course professor.

🗓️ Internship Terms Available:

• Fall Semester: September – December

• Full Hockey Season: September - April

🔑 Key Responsibilities:

Photography & Visual Content

• Capture live game action, behind-the-scenes moments, and off-ice events

• Edit and deliver high-quality photos for use on social media, websites, and sponsor materials

• Help maintain a well-organized, searchable photo archive

• Support creative needs for marketing, promotional campaigns, and content calendars

Sports Journalism & Written Content

• Write engaging game recaps, player features, and press releases for the team website and media outlets

• Cover home games and team events with real-time stat tracking, quotes, and postgame reports

• Conduct interviews with players, coaches, and staff for stories and features

• Assist in editing and proofreading digital copy for consistency and brand voice

Digital Content & Social Media

• Contribute to content creation for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and X (Twitter)

• Help brainstorm and schedule content for special events, milestones, and holidays

• Support community relations and sponsor initiatives through creative content coverage

🧾 Qualifications:

• Writing and editing skills with a passion for storytelling. Not required but recommended.

• Photography experience with DSLR/mirrorless cameras. Not required but recommended.

• Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar editing tools. Not required but recommended.

• Familiarity with hockey terminology, rules, and gameplay preferred

• Experience using social media for brand engagement is a plus

• Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments

• Must be available for evening and weekend home games and events
