INTERNSHIPS

Our internship programs are structured similarly to traditional college courses and are available during the spring, summer, and fall semesters—as well as a full-season option for those seeking a more extended experience. Interns will gain hands-on experience in the sports and entertainment industry, participate in guest speaker sessions, engage in community volunteer events, and receive mentorship from professionals across our organization.

ASM Hockey Group welcomes applicants currently enrolled in accredited colleges or universities. All participants must receive academic credit for their internship through their institution. If a student is not eligible to receive credit or their school does not offer credit for internships, the position will be considered a volunteer role. Please consult with your academic advisor or relevant faculty to confirm eligibility for credit.

This is an unpaid opportunity and does not guarantee future employment with ASM Hockey Group.

Mentor Program

Each intern will be paired with a dedicated mentor who will serve as a key resource for support, learning, and professional development. Mentors will be available for shadowing opportunities, answering questions, offering guidance, and providing overall career advice throughout the internship experience.

Hands On Experience

Interns will gain meaningful, hands-on experience by actively contributing to day-to-day operations within their department. From assisting with game-day execution to supporting team logistics, marketing, or media efforts, interns will play a real role in the success of their host team while developing practical skills for a future career in the sports industry.

Graduation Presentations

As the semester wraps up, interns will put together a fun, reflective presentation to share their experiences with the group. It’s a great chance to highlight what you’ve learned, showcase your favorite projects, and celebrate your growth with fellow interns, mentors, and supervisors!

Jasmine Scavo-Treiber

West Chester University

“When I first started out as an incoming intern with ASM Hockey Group, I was a senior about to graduate from college. I had no idea what career path I wanted to take, but I knew I wanted to work in the media field. Joining the West Chester Wolves media team gave me the opportunity to explore so many different areas of sports media, from blog writing and game-day operations to event planning, sales, and marketing.

What I didn’t expect was to discover my true passion in photography. I showed up on the first day with my camera, unsure if I would even be able to use it. Before I knew it, I was photographing my first junior hockey game. From that moment on, I only grew to love it more. Throughout the season, I could see my skills and confidence developing with every game and every opportunity.

I could not have done it without the incredible supervising staff. James, Dom, and Lucas were always supportive, encouraging, and communicative with our intern team. They consistently provided learning opportunities, constructive feedback, and created a fun, positive environment where we were able to grow. It was clear they were passionate about what they do and genuinely care about helping young professionals succeed in the sports media industry.

I truly would not have become the sports photographer I am today without my internship with ASM Hockey Group. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities and mentorship I was given throughout the entirety of my season. This program not only helped me build valuable skills and experience, but also gave me direction for my future and strengthened my belief that I belong in the sports media industry.”
