ASM Hockey Group is seeking enthusiastic, media-savvy interns for Broadcast Production & Color Commentary roles during the upcoming season. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in live sports broadcasting, including operating production equipment and delivering real-time color commentary during hockey games.
Interns will work directly with the Broadcast Technical Director to help deliver high-quality broadcasts across streaming platforms and social media, contributing to the team's digital and fan engagement strategy.
We are looking for energetic, outgoing individuals with a positive, can-do attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow within the sports and entertainment industry. In addition to the duties and objectives listed above, interns will have the opportunity to gain exposure to various departments and entities within ASM Hockey Group.
The ASM Hockey Group internship program is designed to provide an educational, skill-building, hands-on experience. A key component of the program is the opportunity for interns to earn college credit through their academic institution.
Status and Rate of Pay:
Your status will be part-time as an intern or volunteer, with no employee benefits. This is an unpaid position. You will receive academic credit through your current university or institution for this work-based learning experience in collaboration with ASM Hockey Group and your school. If you are not eligible to receive academic credit, or if your university does not grant credit for internships, this opportunity will automatically be classified as a volunteer position. If you have any questions about your eligibility for academic credit, please consult your university advisor, internship coordinator, or course professor.

Fall Semester: September – December
Spring Semester: January – April
Full Hockey Season: September - April
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
Provide color commentary for home games during live broadcasts
Assist with broadcast setup and operation (cameras, mics, stream platforms, overlays)
Collaborate with production staff to ensure smooth live streams and professional-quality content
Conduct pre-game prep including research, player notes, and storylines
Assist in post-game content development such as highlight calls, recaps, and social media clips
Maintain professionalism on-air and follow branding and presentation guidelines
🧾 Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of hockey, including terminology, rules, and game flow preferred
Excellent verbal communication and storytelling skills
Comfortable speaking live and reacting quickly in a fast-paced environment
Experience with streaming platforms (e.g., YouTube Live, LiveBarn, or similar) is a plus
Basic technical proficiency with audio/video equipment or software
Prior experience in broadcast, journalism, or media is preferred but not required
Availability on evenings and weekends for home games is required
