ASM Hockey Group is seeking Broadcast Camera Operator Interns to join the Game Day Media Team for the upcoming hockey season. Interns will assist in producing high-quality live game broadcasts through hands-on operation of broadcast cameras at home games and select team events. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, professional sports setting and gain real-time experience in live event production.
Interns will collaborate closely with the Broadcast Technical Director and Media Department to help capture in-game action, player features, and event atmosphere for live streaming, highlight reels, and social media content.
We are looking for energetic, outgoing individuals with a positive, can-do attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow within the sports and entertainment industry. In addition to the duties and objectives listed above, interns will have the opportunity to gain exposure to various departments and entities within ASM Hockey Group.
The ASM Hockey Group internship program is designed to provide an educational, skill-building, hands-on experience. A key component of the program is the opportunity for interns to earn college credit through their academic institution.
Status and Rate of Pay:
Your status will be part-time as an intern or volunteer, with no employee benefits. This is an unpaid position. You will receive academic credit through your current university or institution for this work-based learning experience in collaboration with ASM Hockey Group and your school. If you are not eligible to receive academic credit, or if your university does not grant credit for internships, this opportunity will automatically be classified as a volunteer position. If you have any questions about your eligibility for academic credit, please consult your university advisor, internship coordinator, or course professor.

🗓️ Internship Terms Available:
Fall Semester: September – December
Spring Semester: January – April
Full Hockey Season: September - April
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
Operate stationary or handheld broadcast cameras during live hockey games and events
Follow direction from the broadcast team for optimal camera angles, tracking, and framing
Set up and break down camera equipment before and after events
Assist with basic troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment as needed
Capture compelling footage that contributes to highlight packages and social media content
Collaborate with production crew to ensure smooth, high-quality live streams
🧾 Qualifications:
Interest in live production, media, or sports broadcasting
Prior experience with cameras or production equipment is preferred but not required
Ability to follow direction quickly and stay focused during fast-paced events
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light equipment
Comfortable working in loud, fast-moving environments
